Utah

Wow, am I behind on blogging. I vow to get better now that we are in COLOMBIA!!!! I will have more time for a while before I actually have a routine... and friends :) haha... I know I will have friends and it's actually kind of nice to have NO obligations right now. So before heading down to Bogota we did our usual visits to family and we had such a great time! Jay and MyMy LOVE their grandmas and grandpas. Here is a recap of our visit to Utah. We went to the circus! I have never been to a circus before in my life and it was awesome. There were tigers, bears, jugglers, tight-rope walkers and of course lots of cotton candy and popcorn!

The tight-rope walkers were amazing. The whole time Jill and I were holding our breath and half-way wishing they were done already because we were so nervous for them! There wasn't even a net underneath. CrAZy!

While I know that Jay enjoyed the show I think his favorite part was intermission when he got to play on the giant bouncy slide.

MyMy made a friend while we were there. So cute :)

Jay and I took some pictures on Sunday. He's such a handsome boy! Jill let me have a full day of shopping by myself. It was so much fun! I wanted to get a few things before leaving for Bogota where everything will be 3x the price! I bought this dress. Love it!

Here is grandma with her 2 of her favorite people in the world!!!

When we got to Utah there was snow on the ground. Jay was SOOO excited to go play in it. He and grandma had a blast together.

MyMy liked the snow a little less than Jay - she normally loves swinging but she didn't last too long out in the cold!

Jay and Grandma made a little snowman together. So cute! There was hardly enough snow to do it but they made it happen :)

Jill has been trying to de-junk her house and she accidentally threw away all the little connectors to the marble game. So, we had to go out to Toys R' Us and buy a new one! Jay was SO excited. He really wanted the pink/purple/red one. Hahaha! We had enough connectors with the new game to be able to build a marble game using the slides from both sets. It mad for one GIANT marble game!!!

Jay and Amaya had such a great time with Uncle Robbie. He is so good with them. Both kids also fell in love with Rob's girlfriend Amy. Jay kept asking when she was going to come over again and he didn't understand why she didn't just live at the house with Rob :)

Family night! We pretended like we were David and shot marshmallows at Goliath. I'm not sure why MyMy looks so dirty... maybe because she's a toddler!

And again...

My sweetest boy :)

Playing in the bath tub. MyMy really got ahold of this ball and wouldn't let go!

Embarrassing bath pictures that Jay will hate soon :D

MyMy and Jay went up to the cemetery with Grandma and her friend Joyce to feed the bunny rabbits. They thought it was pretty cool! MyMy is making her typical "cheese" face.

Popsicle time!

We decided to go up to the cabin for a few days and it was so much fun. It is so beautiful up there! Getting there was NOT easy though. We hiked in with two little ones and all our stuff and for half of the way the snow wasn't packed down at all. Jay was a trooper though! He led the way (even though he didn't even have boots) and made it all the way there with only a few rests along the way. My baby is such a little man now!! Amaya wanted to walk too - of course. That wasn't quite as simple. It ended up being more of a swing/push/walk which was not easy for Grandma! We made it though and we had a great time.

One night we made homemade ice cream with this cool ball ice cream maker we gave Jill and Lynn for Christmas a few years ago. You put all the ingredients into the ball, put ice and rock salt in the space around it and roll/throw/play with it for about 20 minutes, then - ICE CREAM! Jay and Amaya had fun breaking up the ice that was stuck together in the ice maker.

Look at that concentration.

MyMy got a little distracted... eating the ice was almost as fun as breaking it up.

YUM!!! We made "vanilla bean" ice cream by accident - we put twice the amount of vanilla in than we were supposed to but it actually ended up being really yummy!

My yittles ready to brave the snow!

Feeding the birdies outside. Amaya loved this!

Ummm... what's this?

 Up on the balcony.

Jay always loves throwing this parachute man off the balcony.

Jay did lots of this during the trip - watching Cars 2!!! He LOVES watching it with people who have never seen it before (i.e. Grams and Gramps)

MyMy did lots of this...
"A buh-buh, a buh-buh, a buh buh!!!" She LOVES her buh-buh and probably would be a skinny stick without it.

She does like "eating" apples but it's mostly a game. She takes a bite and spits it out, takes a bite and spits it out. I don't get it...

 Valentines Day cookies!

We also roasted hot dogs and marsh mallows in the fire place. Yum!

Jay and Grandma went snow shoeing one day!!! Can you believe this little guy can snow shoe? He's so big!

Jay's budding photography skills at work :)

What a little trooper!

This post is getting huge. I'm almost done though. While we were in Utah we went to visit Grandma Great when we found a few extra visitors! Mike's aunt and uncle Janet and Alan were there with their grandchildren (Jay and Amaya's second cousins). They kids had fun together. Jay and Sosh are about the same age. They had a blast playing cars together. Ellie was so sweet with Amaya. Amaya was fascinated with pointing out her facial features. Tommy was really sweet with Amaya too. He gave her his new bouncy ball to take home because they were having so much fun playing with it together. They are really great kids! I wish we could see them more often. It would have been nice to see Mike's cousins Lesley and Joe too but they were at the Sundance Film Festival. Poor them!

We also had the chance to see Jessie and her cute kids while we were in Utah. It was so nice! Jess and I communicate more than family now that we have our Disney-house rental business together but we hardly get to see each other... and we hardly ever have time to talk about non-business stuff! We met them up at the Salt Lake aquarium and the kids had a great time together. Kelsey declared that she was going to marry Jay someday and he seemed to be fine with that :) So cute.

We sure had a fun time visiting our wonderful family. We love you so much!!!
