Over the weekend we went to beautiful Monterey. Cory met us there with his girlfriend Brandy. It was really nice for the family to meet her. We all got along really well and enjoyed getting to know her better. She's a wonderful woman.

We had so much fun together. While we were in Monterey we also had a chance to see my long lost best friend since junior high - Teresa Coffey. She's been living in Monterey the past 7 years (lucky girl) and is a manager at Bubba Gumps.

It was so fun to see Tree. She's awesome. Monterey was pretty cold there but it was okay with a jacket on. Jay loved the ocean and all the boats. He also enjoyed seeing the sea otters. We stayed right off the warf, it was a great spot.

We especially enjoyed taste testing all the yummy clam chowder at the restaurants along the warf. mmmm.... clam chowder. Here's Jay and Nona looking out at the ocean. Jay couldn't get enough of it. He loved laughing at the waves.

On Saturday we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was really cool, but it was
so crowded. We found out that going to the Aquarium on a Saturday, especially on Father's Day weekend, is not a good idea. Oh well, we still had a good time.

Jay really liked the kid area. They had indoor playgrounds and a tide pool to play in. He loved it. Too bad there were so many kids there. He only had the chance to see about half of what was there.

Some of our favorite creatures were these funny sea horses. Aren't they cool? They look like plants!

We also really liked the new sea horse exhibit. It was amazing. Sea horses are beautiful creatures.

On Saturday night we saw my Uncle Jim, Aunt Michelle, Cousin Steve and Val and their kids. It was so nice to see thim. It has been way too long. Jay enjoyed meeting his second cousins. I don't have any pictures for some reason. I'll have to find some and post them. On Sunday we had a nice Father's Day. We had a breakfast of crepes then we had to say goodbye to Cory and Brandy so they could make their way back to L.A.

After we said goodbye Mom, Dad, Mike, Jay and I went to Carmel to see the mission there. It is a beautiful place.

Jay loved throwing coins in the fountain.

There were some gorgeous flowers and greenery around the mission.

After seeing the mission we drove along the 17 mile drive. There are some incredible houses there. We stopped along the way at one of the beaches to play along the waves and pop the seaweed bubbles. Jay had a great time. So did we!

It was a wonderful weekend, especially because we were able to spend it together.
