Living Aloha

Pure Joy!

We went to our favorite beach, Napili Kai, one day to play. Jay loved splashing in the ocean and running up and down the beach. He had a little green ball that he chased all day around the beach. Unfortunately, he threw it in the water once and we didn't get it out quickly enough. By the time we went to get it, it was too far away and just kept going. It was sucked way out into the ocean and is probably to Lanai by now!

Here's my cute mama on the beach.

It's so fun to be 2 on the beach.

Here are my mom and dad on Valentines Day. Don't they look great?

Running in the front yard.

Jay and I went out for dinner and ice cream for Valentine Day. Jay accidentally picked up his whole cup of ice cream with his spoon.

Our boy loves ice cream!

Me and my mom on her birthday. We went to the beach to watch whales and we ended up seeing quite a few.

Alan came to visit us while he was vacationing on Oahu. We took a hike to this little waterfall. Usually you can walk right up to it, but with all the rain this year you have to wade through four feet of water to get there.

Here is Alan showing Jay the river below.

Papa and Jay on the hike.

These bananas were growing wild on the side of the trail. We actually have a banana tree in our backyard too.

Jay loved the coy fish in this little pond. They were huge and so close to the surface.

Caught with only a towel on!

Jay helped Papa carry these bricks from the van to the back of the house. He thought it was so cool.

What a big boy!

Playing on the beach at sunset.

Soaking up the water.

I love this picture! I caught Jay hugging Eva while he was asleep and I couldn't resist.

A trip to the park

Jay loves playing at this park near the house. He enjoys playing with the other children there and he loves to try new things, especially when he sees other kids trying them.

Dolphin Show and Roatan

Hey all, Anna has been the sole blogger from our family since our blog began so I figure a few years later I probably should at least do one post, right, it's the least I can do. Now since I am new to this whole blogging thing don't expect the professional appearance a typical entry done by Anna (unless you want to edit my post sweety!)

This past weekend we had a long weekend and on a whim I went with a couple of the guys from base up to Honduran island of Roatan in the Carribean. We had an awesome time and did a bunch of scuba and swam with dolphins overall a great weekend.

This dolphins is one of the coolest sea creatures I have ever met, his name is Mr French. His trainer walked us through his routine and did a little show for us. Mr French then let us pet him and did a ton of tricks.

I then got a guided tour of the island by the local police. The police man that took me around took me to see an Iguana park and just about everything else the island had to offer.

Our hotel had a sand volleyball court and all the locals gathered there each night to play volleyball. We joined in and got our butts kicked but we had a good time anyway.

This is the view from our hotel room absolutely incredible in the morning

Dancing Jay

Jay loves to dance. I mean he really, really loves to dance. Some of his favorite songs to dance to are on the Mama Mia soundtrack. Last night when I told him it was bedtime he kept saying, "Ma, Mia? Ma Mia?" At first I didn't understand him but after a few tries I figured out he was asking me to play the Mama Mia soundtrack for him so he could dance! I mean, how can you not love ABBA? I have to admit that he even knows some of the words now :) Here's a little taste of his moves.

Copan

Mike did a little traveling for his work last week. Here are some pictures from his adventures. Mike, feel free to add anything you'd like :)At Mike's hotel room in Tela.

View from the room.

Random guy peeing on the side of the road (taken on the way to Copan).

Hanging out in the city of Copan.

More of Copan.

Mike at the hot springs. Don't ask me what the mud camouflage is about... but he looks very intimidating, doesn't he? :)

More of the hot springs with a cool little waterfall.

Dave and Mike.

They saw these birds randomly sitting on a fence in the wild. Aren't them amazing? Mike said seeing them flying off in formation was incredible.

Hanging out with friends at dinner.

Here's Mike at the Mayan ruins of Copan. Some of the structures here date back to 1000 BC. This site is known as the most artistically advanced and elaborate of all the Maya cities.

A Copan Stela made honorary OSI agent (notice the oversized clown-sized badge Mike gets to carry around with him)

More of the ruins... check out the guy on the bottom left. Not very subtle, is he?

Mike sitting in his dream car.

Back at the base now. This little rooster is the office mascot. Each agent that deploys down there feeds him so he sticks around.

And here's a pictures of Mike's sweet new guitar. He's trying to learn some new songs while he's down there.
