What's Mike up to?

Mike is doing well in Honduras. He's working hard and managing to have some fun too. He tries to stay as busy as possible so that the time will go by quickly and he won't miss us too unbearably. So far in his off time he's bought a guitar and is learning some new songs, he's taking Latin dance classes, volunteering at a Honduran orphanage, participating in a base basketball league and this weekend he'll be going on a 6 hour hike to bring needed food and medical supplies to a remote village. Not bad, eh? He's also been exploring the area and learning how to barter like a Honduran. Like I said, he's trying to stay busy :) Over Christmas Mike took a trip with a co-worker to an island about 5 hours away from the base. After a very queasy ferry ride over to the island, the guys had a great time. He stayed in a little hut right on the beach with his very own hammock hanging on the porch. While there he went scuba diving, snorkling and zip lining. He said the island was absolutely beautiful and most of the people there were American tourists. Here are some of the pics he sent me.

this post makes me think that mike has more in common with peter pan than anything else. never grow up and never make another comparison on my blog about the weather there versus the weather in utah!

I had fun getting all caught up on your blog. You've got some great pics! Speaking of which, how is the new camera? I want one and I've heard a cannon is the way to go. You'll have to fill me in...
