We have officially started our tour of Northern Spain. We started by staying in a Casa Rural (they are sort of like B&B's) in Leyos, outside the city of Toledo. The Casa Rural El Alamo Grande was awesome!
The only problem was that there was no air conditioning, so we tried to sleep in as little as possible.

We actually had the whole house to ourselves since there weren't any other guests. The house was at least 100 years old. The little town of Layos was very quaint. They were having their Feria while we were there, and Jay jumped at the chance to play on the trampoline (HA!).
He had a great time. After seeing the village, which took about 10 minutes, we went to dinner at a restaurant that had a little playground. Jay especially loved the tire swing.

On Thursday we went to see the city of Toledo.
It's a very old city dating back to pre-Roman times (like most places in Europe). It's famous for sword making and there were some beautiful swords and knives there. The city is really cool. A huge wall surrounds it dating back to medieval times. It also has a beautiful cathedral.
It was a great place to visit.

SO beautiful there.... I love all of the stone walls and cathedrals! Oh, and your B&B looks adorable. I'll add this to my ever-growing list of places I need to go!
Toledo is so pretty! We were so tired when we got there and we had to leave the next morning, so we didn't actually go into the city! It looks beautiful though.
Everywhere you kids go, I think there isn't another old, quaint, beautiful place left to visit and yet, you fine another. The casa rural is an historical site in itself although "new" in comparison to most of Europe! So glad you have the chance to visit these special places and Jay seems to enjoy himself too where ever you are. What a good boy...the best boy:) Be safe. Love you.
So good to see you enroute on your northern tour. Great photos. Again, I love your history Anna. Hope Jay didn't beg for a sword...his daddy did and we searched England over until we found one in an antique shop. Is Toledo what "holy toledo" is famous for?? Hi Jay Bug. You are such a traveler. Lots of kisses to you all. We are praying for your safety. xo
