FOURTH OF JULY!

Yeah! It's the Fourth of July! How we love the 4th of July! Especially a Utah 4th :) We had a blast this year. Mike couldn't be there because he had to go to Peru for a 2 week training. He definitely missed out! We started out the week jet skiing at Utah Lake. Mike couldn't make it so just Melissa, Reed, Rob and I went. This picture is the only evidence of our adventures. Rob knew of a great place where it was glassy among tall grass that was perfect for jet skiing. We had such a blast!

We went to downtown Provo the night before the 4th to let the kids experience the annual 4th of July carnival. It was super fun! We went on rides, ate FREE ice cream, went on more rides, pretended to be BYU football players with real gear, and saw all the people set up to sleep overnight to get seats for the parade the next day!

THE ACTUAL DAY!

On the 4th of July morning Melissa, Reed, Megan, Martin and I woke up to do the Provo 4th of July 5K. This was my first 5K and I will admit it wasn't easy for me! I was so proud of myself for running the whole way though! It was fun to have accomplished something and to have done it all together. Megan was great and ran the whole way with me, encouraging me along. Yay for us! Martin actually won an award! He ran it in 17 minutes. He's an all-star!

The kids stayed home with grandma and grandpa and had the traditional Connelly 4th of July breakfast of powdered sugar doughnuts with raspberry jelly inside while watching the hot air balloons! Yummy, yummy :) Brookie had a bit of a rough morning. She got pinned between the wall and the treadmill and skinned her knee. She was okay but pretty traumatized! Maybe it's not best to force ALL three babies onto grandma and grandpa while they're trying to get ready for a parade! We were a bit crazy.

We all met at the parade and had a fun time seeing all the floats, bands, dancers and cars!

We had a delicious 4th of July lunch with the Taylor family then later that night headed to the Stadium of Fire. Greg drove us down in the back of the truck. The kids thought it was pretty cool. The Beach Boys were the main show this year and I had SO much fun singing to all the songs I grew up with. Jay was so tired he fell asleep before the fire works started but then he woke right back up once he heard the first boom! Amaya needed to be snuggled by grandma because the fireworks were too loud!
