We decided to spend Christmas here in Bogota this year since I'm pregnant and we wanted to experience the holiday at least once while we're down here. The kids of course were super excited for Christmas to come! One Christmas Eve we wrote letters to Santa, made him cookies and left it all by the fireplace (we actually have one this year!). We also left Rudolph a carrot. Here are the kids making cookies. Their favorite part is licking the spoon!

Before going to bed we also read the story of Jesus's birth in Luke. Then we ready The Night Before Christmas. It's the same one my parents read to my brother and I every Christmas Eve growing up.
Amaya woke up early Christmas morning... just because she always does. Jay actually slept in until about 8! We waited for him before going out to discover what Santa left. When he finally got up he got Amaya super excited and they ran for the loot!

They couldn't wait to open their presents so we got right to it.
With every present Amaya opened she would say, "What's inside?!?! What's inside?!?!?!?" in a super excited high pitched voice. With every present, the more excited she got and higher her voice went.
They definitely scored! Amaya's presents included her paint sets, her tool set, her purse and a little Russian penguin set. She especially loved how she got to unwrap every little penguin (there are 8 in all). Every time she'd yell, "What's inside?!?!" Jay loved his Darda cars, new movies, a maze game, his remote control cars, his Finn McMissile that goes on the wall and his LeapPad.
That night we had a dinner with several close friends while all the kids played with their new toys. Overall it was a great day! We definitely were missing being with the rest of our family but it was a nice Christmas.

Beautiful Bogata Christmas memories made...the most adorable part, those special little ones. I missed those sweet, awestruck faces and eyes of wonder this year but looking forward to more happy memories next Christmas when another precious little girl will join our family and new adventures will begin:) Big Loves and Hugs sweet family!!
