Gimnasio Moderno Festival!
The yearly Gimnasio Moderno festival took place today! We were all excited to go and only hit a few Colombian bumps along the way. Our experience pretty much sums up the Colombian way of doing things. When we got to the school we saw the line to purchase wrist bands for the kids to participate in all of the activities. We immediately got in line and waited for about 20 minutes before almost reaching the front when we overheard the lady in front of us telling her husband they were in the wrong line. After speaking with them we realized that we too were in the wrong line. In order to purchase the wrist bands we first had to wait in another line across campus where we could purchase a chargeable card. We then had to take that card and wait in another line where we could put money on the card. Once that was finally done we could return to the original line and purchase the wrist bands. Mind you there were no signs, no information, nada to inform us of this process. Yup, that pretty much sums up Colombia! We took it in stride and tried to just enjoy the beautiful day rather than dwell on the ridiculousness of it all. Once we finally purchased the wrist bands we were starving so we went to get some food. Check out this meat!
Then it was on to fun and games! Jay decided to make his one purchase this crazy shooting foam. All his friends had it and he thought it was pretty cool! Amaya chose bubbles.
PS here is Jay at a recent school activity. They had to dress up as mice and act out the Pide Piper. He's so cute! This picture is on the Gimnasio Moderno website. I made the costume ;)
