We've had an exciting week! We had a great time with our friends Jeff and Aubrey Gittenz who came to stay for a few days. Unfortunately, Mike had to work a lot while they were here, but we had fun anyway. We went to Sevilla, ate good food, and played games of speed Scrable. It was so nice to see them. Unfortunately

, we also had a scary experience while they were here. Baby Jay rolled off the bed and hit his face on the floor. It was definitely one of the scariest experiences I've ever had. Mike wasn't home and it was actually a good thing that I had the Gittenz here to help calm things down. Our extremely nice neighbor took me to the hospital with Jay a

nd Mike rushed home as fast as possible. Happily, Jay was totally fine. His nose bled for a few minutes and of course he cried, but other than that there was nothing wrong. Check out his tough pictures! Every mom I've told about my experience has assured me that I'm not a bad mom and that it can happen to anyone. Needless to say, I am and will now always be much more careful. We now have our friends Tally and Jessie here, visiting from Switzerland. We're having a great time and I'll post more about our adventures soon! By the way... Happy Mother's Day to all!

anna, i'm so sorry you had to go through that... probably more traumatic for you than for little jay! i once walked out of a target store with one of their carts (elle was in the back) only to have the wheels lock up on me... elle went flying out and landed on her head.... all i could do was watch in slow motion horror as it happened. i felt like the worst mom ever! after a few of "those days" you realize that it happens and you just do everything you can to "pick up the pieces" and make it better! thank goodness for good friends to lean on!!! you are a fabulous mom, anna!
Dej, I don't think you landed on your head but certainly on your bottom when you were little. Yes, the mom guilt settles in but know this, he won't remember any of it when he gets older. At least you have a sweet picture to show him his first ouwee. Jay, I'm so sorry you had to take a tumble on that Spanish marble, but mommy and daddy's special loves made it all better because they are the absolute best mommy and daddy in the world and they love you more than you can possibly know until you have your own little Jay or Janet. Love you lots, nona
