Happy Mother's Day

I had a wonderful mother's day this year. I love my family so much! Mike made me breakfast on Sunday morning  - it was supposed to be breakfast in bed but I can't sleep in very late now that the sun is up at 5:30 a.m. here! Now I really wish Arizona did daylight savings time. The breakfast was very tasty though!

Jay gave me his mother's day present. He made it at preschool. It was a little baggie of bath salts, green of course. Jay's very favorite color is green. He also gave me this little card.

I think it's pretty funny that he thinks I'm 20. And I like to work? Not sure that's the best thing for him to think! Although when I asked him about it he told me, "Yeah mommy, you like to work at home and stay with me!" Pretty sweet little guy. I love the drawing too. Something to treasure. I adore that little boy. And my baby girl too. They both make being a mom the best "work" on earth!

Welcome to the world Sage Marie!

My new little niece is here! Sage Marie was born May 9, 2011 around 5:30 pm. She is 20 inches long and 7 pounds 2 ounces. Just perfect. I love her so much already and I can't wait to hold her in my arms. Congratulations Cory and Brandy!

Standing up

Amaya is still content to crawl, but she does attempt to stand up every now and then.

I figure she'll probably be like Jay and not walk until she's 16 months. I'm not sure why my kids like to take so long crawling and walking - maybe I just like to hold them too much! Not much new to report. We're enjoying the sun here in Tucson. I can't believe it's already in the upper 90s! It has made swimming great though. Other than that we're just counting down the days until Disneyland!!!

I love seeing Jay and Amaya play together more and more.

Yes, that tongue does still come out pretty frequently ;)

Seriously, where did those blue eyes come from? Love them!

This boy is ridiculously fun to hang out with. Pirates, bubbles, cars, Mario Kart, swimming, running, playing games, playdough... our days are pretty packed.

What a little goof! He can always make me smile.

So serious! but oh so beautiful.

Okay, I better stop blogging because I need to go give these kids some serious snuggles and kiss those perfect little cheeks!

Popcicles

My My LOVES eating popsicles. As you would imagine, sometime they get all over the place.

It's probably a good thing we only eat them outside :)

Easter 2011

We had another great Easter this year. I love spring and I love the Easter season! What a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our Savior and the joy our knowledge of His resurrection brings. If only we could have celebrated with our entire extended family, but as I often tell Jay, "You can't always get what you want." :) We still had a great weekend. Jay and I started out by coloring Easter eggs. Here we are starting out...

Notice this was taking place inside. On our dining room table. While sitting on cloth covered chairs. With only carpet underneath (seriously - who EVER thought carpet in a dining room was a good idea?). As you may have guessed, it didn't exactly go as planned. I told Jay to gently lower one of the eggs by himself (bad idea) using one of those ridiculous wire egg holders (worse idea) while I got Amaya a snack (not even supervising him? terrible idea!). Next thing I knew blue dye was everywhere and I was shouting hysterically. Luckily I wasn't shouting at Jay - I kept reassuring him it wasn't his fault while I furiously tried to soak up the dye and clean the carpet while simultaneously reprimanding myself... quite forcefully. I think Jay and Amaya were both in shock. Ten minutes later I had somehow managed to clean up the disaster with surprisingly little damage to the carpet. I gathered my babies up, told them I was sorry for "freaking out" and we all went outside to try again. This time? Total success!

On Saturday morning  Jay was pretty excited to wake up to his Easter basket.

After eating too many jelly beans we headed out to the Zoo for an Easter egg hunt.

Then Jay got to meet the Easter bunny.

So did My My but she wasn't quite as excited as Jay :)

Then Jay was able to meet a real bunny.

And a few other animals too.

Here are the kids on Easter Sunday.

I love this picture - My My has to crawl like this when she wears a dress.

This is how the kids really felt about taking pictures...

I sure love my little ones!
