We spent 5 days in Lake Tahoe after visiting Nevada City. It was so beautiful, as usual. Our family used to rent a house in Tahoe every summer for a week and I have so many good memories from our annual trips. We decided to try to have a mini family reunion this summer to recreate the experience for the littles. Unfortunately Amy, Matt, Caleb, Clara and Kristin and Kevin couldn't make it but pretty much everyone else did! Carol, Jeff and Lizzie even came up for a few days and Cory, Brandy and Sage came too.
Here's MyMy waiting with Nonna Great to get on the road! We had to take my parent's 4-Runer and my grandma's sweet Oldsmobile to fit us all. Check out those blue velvet seats!
We had a great time together. We stayed at a little resort right on the beach. My parents rented us 3 condos with their Diamond International points. It was really nice! The first morning the kids were dying to go to the beach so while Cory and Brandy were recovering from the previous night (poor baby Sage didn't sleep to well) we headed to the lake with Nonna. It was freezing cold so we didn't go swimming but we did have fun playing in the sand. We also rented a 4 person paddle boat and took to the water. It wasn't nearly as easy to control as we had hoped it would be but we still loved seeing the amazing scenery! Nonna came too even though she's not in the picture.
While swimming in the cold lake was out the kids did enjoy swimming in the indoor/outdoor pool at the resort. Jay is such a little fish now! MyMy loved splashing around with daddy.
Of course we had to go to the Harrah's buffet for dinner one night! It's tradition. Grandma hit the slots afterwards and actually won a $1000 jackpot! Paid for dinner anyway. I think she probably put back nearly as much as she put in during the trip but she did have quite a few big jackpots in the mix. Mike played a little Craps and ended up about $120 after his first night. On the second night he gave it all back but $20. Luckily he can easily walk away whether he's winning or loosing and he never bets big.
MyMy loved the cream puffs!

While the adults were gambling the kids went to the arcade. Nonna Great gave them $20 each to spend, just like she used to! Jay loved it.
So did Lizzie. Haha!
Jay's got the tongue going, just like daddy. So fun!

I love the family shot. The paddle boat looks so fun. I think Mymy's white glasses have been in more countries than I have. You are amazing at keeping track of things. The traveling guru of the century. Glad you had such a fun time-even Nona Great hitting some jackpots. So cute.
Loving the shot of Jay and Mike shooting baskets with the tongue extended... like father like son.
